Barber's Advice for Natural Hair Conditioning for Men

Natural Hair Conditioning; is it MYTH or MASTERFUL

Eggs - a natural hair conditioner for men?

While many hair conditioning tips out there are geared toward women, men can also benefit greatly from using hair conditioners and treatments.

Your hair gets stronger, smoother, and shiner when you condition it regularly, the right way.

If you're looking for some affordable, natural ways to condition your hair at home, try out these simple DIY remedies using ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.

1. Egg Mask

Eggs are packed with protein, biotin, and other nutrients that nourish hair from the inside out.

How To Apply: To make an egg hair mask, simply whisk together 1 egg with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil until blended. Apply the mixture to clean, damp hair and let it sit for 20-30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

2. Avocado Conditioner

Avocados are rich in vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats that deeply moisturize dry, brittle hair.

How To Apply: Mash up 1/2 an avocado and mix in 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Work the creamy mixture through your hair, let it soak in for 15-20 minutes, then rinse.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

Apple cider vinegar helps remove product buildup while restoring shine and smoothness.

How To Apply: Mix 1-2 tablespoons of ACV with 1 cup of water. After shampooing, pour the rinse over your hair, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.

4. Beer Rinse

The proteins and B vitamins in beer can add body and luster to hair.

How To Apply: Pour a cup of flat beer over freshly washed hair, let it soak in for a few minutes, then rinse clean. The beer helps strengthen hair while imparting shine.

5. Coconut Oil Treatment

Coconut oil is a stellar deep-conditioning treatment that penetrates hair strands.

How To Apply: Warm up 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil until it becomes liquid, then work it through your hair from roots to ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap and let it soak in for 30-60 minutes before shampooing out.

6. Quality Shampoo and Conditioner

We like to use something gentle that's infused with a naturally fatty oil so that the hair receives the nourishment and protection that it needs.
